It’s the perfect introduction to discover Cusco in its full expression, covering all the Inca and Colonial places of great interest in the historic center. Enjoying this great destination is living the best of its experiences.

This is a fantastic tour where we will visit part of the Sacred Valley and you’ll see breathtaking mountain views. You’ll follow a traditional route where you’ll meet Quechua-speaking residents, keeping their traditional culture alive. They’ll be adorned in typical costumes, wearing colorful clothes, working their fields in an artisanal way. You’ll see llamas and alpacas and have the privilege of learning the spinning and dyeing process of wool with natural dyes, just like in the time of the Incas.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas stretches along the Urubamba River and is a traditional route where you’ll meet Quechua-speaking residents, keeping their traditional culture alive. They’ll be adorned in typical costumes, working their fields in an artisanal way.

The last day of visiting Machu Picchu will take you on an adventure to one of the most magical and mysterious places on the planet. It’s one of the most important destinations in South America and the entire world. Hidden in the mountains and tropical jungle for 400 years, it was discovered in 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham. Without a doubt, it’s worth visiting at least once in a lifetime.

Itinerary

DAY 1: Cusco – City Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 12:30 pm. From there, we will head to the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, where we will visit the Cathedral. Then, we will walk from the Plaza de Armas to Qoricancha, which was one of the most important religious centers of the Incas where they worshiped the Sun God. The stone constructions have better perfection than Machu Picchu; it was covered in gold before the Spanish conquest. From Qoricancha, we will head to Avenida Sol and take transportation to the impressive Inca site of Sacsayhuaman. It is a majestic place where you will appreciate rocks up to 9 meters high and weighing over 120 tons. All fit with incredible precision; the magnificent zigzag walls are a great attraction. Then we will go to Quenqo, which means labyrinth. This was an Inca Ceremonial Center whose constructions were dedicated to Mother Earth (Pachamama) and contains the most impressive carved rocks. Afterward, we will head to Puca Pucara, known as the red fortress. This place was also used as a military control center and was a resting place in Inca times. Finally, we will visit Tambomachay; its constructions were used to worship the God of Water. Some aqueducts, channels, and interesting fountains sculpted in stone are still preserved. Finally, we will return to Cusco.

DAY 2: Cusco – Chinchero – Salineras – Moray – Cusco

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 a.m. and then drive for about 1 hour to Chinchero. There we will visit the archaeological site, where you will see llamas and alpacas and have the privilege of learning the spinning and dyeing process of wool with natural dyes and appreciate the way they weave following ancient traditions because people still preserve their culture alive as in the Inca times. Then, we will drive for 30 minutes to the Salt Mines, which have around 3,000 pools, fed by an underground hypersaline spring, originated about 110 million years ago during the formation of the Andes mountain range. There you will see the process and evaporation of water to obtain salt. Then, we will drive for about 30 min. to the archaeological site of Moray, where you will see impressive circular agricultural terraces. At first sight, they look like amphitheaters built in impressive natural depressions. Each of these small terraces has its microclimate, depending on the depth of each one. Moray may have been used as a laboratory to determine the ideal conditions for the cultivation of each species. Finally, we will return to Cusco.

DAY 3: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu Pueblo

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 a.m. to head to the Sacred Valley, for about 1 hour to the archaeological site of Pisaq. There you will see impressive agricultural terraces and interesting stone works with clay, there you can enjoy and learn about the history of the Incas. Then, we will return to the town of Pisaq, where we will visit the crafts market, then we will head to Urubamba for about 1 hour, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch, then we will head to the fortress of Ollantaytambo for 30 minutes. Once we arrive at Ollantaytambo, we will visit the interesting town called the Last Living Inca Village, where the urban area was built by the Incas. The town has several water channels, some of which pass under the houses. Finally, we will take the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo, which is located at 2000 meters above sea level for 90 minutes, where we will have dinner at a local restaurant. We will spend the night in a hotel. We recommend going to bed early so you can fully enjoy Machu Picchu the next day.

DAY 4: Machu Picchu Citadel – Cusco

We will wake up early this morning to be one of the first people to enter the Inca Citadel. We will enjoy a delicious breakfast, leave the hotel, and go directly to take the bus to be one of the first to climb Machu Picchu at 5:30 am. This will allow us to see a spectacular sunrise at Machu Picchu, which is truly a magical and unforgettable sight. We will have a 2 to 3-hour guided tour where your guide will share the history and point out the best places to take the most incredible photos. After that, you will have free time to explore the urban area on your own (please note that once you leave the Machu Picchu Citadel, you will not be able to re-enter on your own).

Then, you will take the bus from Machu Picchu to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included), where you can appreciate the town and have free time to visit the town of Aguas Calientes (optional). Excelentes guias e passeios ! Guia Richard super divertido !

100% recomendado.
