Tour Description

The community of Huayllarcocha, or Alpaca and Llama Farm (Awana Kancha Alpaca Farm), provides an interactive platform where people can see Andean Camelids such as llamas, alpacas, guanacos, and vicuñas. Visitors will learn the differences between the different types, how to recognize one from another, their history, and of course, you can feed them and get incredible photographs. On the Awana Kancha Tour, you will have the privilege of learning about the spinning and dyeing process of wool, using natural dyes as in the time of the Incas, preserving the traditions of Andean textiles.

On the way back to Cusco, we will stop at the Cristo Blanco viewpoint to get a panoramic view of the city of Cusco.

Itinerary

This activity takes 3 hours to complete. We will pick you up from your hotel at a convenient time, and drive for 25 minutes to the Huayllarcocha community or Alpaca Farm, which provides an interactive platform.

At the Alpaca Farm, you will have the privilege to learn about the spinning and dyeing process of wool, using natural dyes just like in the time of the Incas, preserving the traditions of Andean textiles. Finally, you can visit the museum where they exhibit all the products they weave and sell.

It would be greatly appreciated if you pay in cash at our office (we accept US dollars or Peruvian soles). We have many ATMs within the historic center of Cusco city. You can also pay online, but you will have to pay a service charge of 5.5%, credit card fee.
