TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MACHU PICCHU TIME (MT) FOR CULTURAL AND ADVENTURE TOURS TO MACHU PICCHU

Dear travelers,

Thank you very much for booking with Machu Picchu Time. We strongly recommend that you carefully read the following:

BOOKING FORM AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Booking a hike, tour, or any package requires a deposit of $200 USD of the total price. Please note that this deposit is necessary to purchase trail permits, train tickets, and Machu Picchu entry tickets, all subject to availability and non-transferable. Once purchased, permits cannot be modified or refunded. This is a regulation of the Peruvian government, not of (MT) or any agency.

Your remaining balance is due upon arrival in Cusco, either 48 hours before departure or during your briefing session. Failure to pay the remaining balances before departure will result in your inability to participate in your hike or tour. Final acceptance of any participant is subject to the receipt and review of all required forms, documents, and payments.

TRAVEL ITINERARIES

All our hikes, tours, and customized packages are subject to itinerary changes due to various circumstances. (MT) reserves the right to cancel or change any trip due to road conditions, weather conditions, or political climate. We also reserve the right to cancel any trip due to the client's unsuitability due to age, poor health, poor physical condition, intoxication, etc.

Any missed tour due to the aforementioned incidents (e.g., weather conditions or political climate) cannot be refunded or recovered. It is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control.

CHANGE POLICY

If you wish to change the departure date after booking, there will be a fee of $100 per person for the change, except if the change is made within 48 hours before the hike, when the change will cost $200 per person.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Machu Picchu Time reserves the right to cancel trips. (Please refer to the above section for TRAVEL ITINERARIES, which mentions our company's rights regarding cancellations and itinerary modifications). (MT) is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred in trip preparation (e.g., non-refundable air tickets for early purchase, clothing, equipment, visa fees, medical expenses, etc.).

We accept responsibility for the actions of our own employees. However, (MT) cannot be held responsible for any actions of third parties. You are fully responsible for your personal property and rented equipment.

If you cancel or abandon a multi-day trip for any reason:

All payments made for the confirmation of any trip, tour, or package itinerary are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Full payment is required 48 hours before departure. Failure to make full payment within this period may result in the CANCELLATION of your tour.

In case of delayed arrivals in Cusco (due to flight delays, buses, etc.), the company assumes no responsibility for missed excursions or trekking departures. (MT) staff will do their best to accommodate and make necessary modifications. However, all additional costs for such modifications will be added to the hiker.

Cancellations of the hike due to illness, missed flights, and any other reason made within 48 hours of the scheduled hike departure are considered NO-SHOWS and are subject to full payment without refund.

On Adventure Tours, if you fall ill or get injured on the trail and cannot continue, a porter will be provided to accompany you back. Helicopter transport and medical assistance are at the hiker's expense. If you cannot complete the trek due to illness, we will assist you in rejoining your group at Machu Picchu to restart your tour at that point. There will be no refund of the original payment.

For Inca Trail bookings (i.e., Inca Trail 2D, Inca Trail 4D), cancellations, whether in advance or last minute, are considered NO-SHOWS.

You must inform your guide if you wish to leave the group for independent hikes or sightseeing. If you have any issues with guide or tour services, please inform the guide at that time so they can address any concerns.

MEDICAL RELEASES AND INSURANCE

We require medical insurance for all participants and medical authorizations for potential guests over 60 years of age and for various conditions, such as a history of cardiovascular diseases, chronic diseases, and other health conditions and factors.

Inform your guides if you are taking any medication or have a chronic illness to avoid any accidents or emergencies. We recommend that you bring a first aid kit on the trail for yourself and other members of your group.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

For your protection, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS

Furthermore, I grant Machu Picchu Time and its team the right to use my name, voice, likeness, and image, including photographs and electronic images or videos showing or describing my participation in any trip, for advertising of any kind, without payment of any additional consideration. Additionally, I waive any right to review or approve the use of my name, voice, likeness, or image.

Sincerely, Machu Picchu Time Team.
